We handmake this solid oak pergola to order at our workshop in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Every post is a full 150 x 150 section of solid oak, so the frame has real weight and presence in the garden. The design you see in the pictures is exactly what we build, and the price is £1,850.
Softwood pergolas often twist and rot within a few years, but oak is a much tougher material. It stands up to the British weather naturally, and it slowly turns a soft silver grey as it ages. Because of that, there is no yearly staining or treatment to worry about. You simply let the oak weather while your climbing plants take over the frame.
The standard design is what you see in the pictures, although slight variations are no problem at all. For example, if you need a different footprint or post layout, just message us and we will quote for the alteration. For fitting, we recommend installation by a tradesman, and we can also provide an installation price if you would like us to arrange it. Most gardens will not need planning permission for a pergola, but the Planning Portal rules are worth a check if you live in a conservation area.
